Well isn't that something

So it turns out, I dislike Blogspot immensely. Thinking about trying out a new blog. Tumblr, maybe? I'll keep you posted.

(**To be clear, I hate it because adding photos is ridiculous and it just randomly deleted a full post without saving a draft. And the templates suck.... but I'm too busy lazy busy to change it. )

Anyway, I'll post again when I don't have two dogs jumping all over me =)

Final Project | Pre-Press Production

Six panel brochure detailing the prices and photographic stylings of yours truly.
Blue is my favorite color (and is better than Pepto-Bismal Pink + White Lilies).
I have nothing else witty to say. Let me know what you think!

Web Design

I am frustrated. Most of it stems from work-related issues, but I am feeling frustrated at my lack of awesomeness at web design. My previous experience with anything web design related consists of VERY basic HTML. That's it. So the rational part of my brain knows this, and thinks that I'm doing a pretty decent job (seeing as I have never used DreamWeaver and CSS before). But the moody, EverythingmustbePERFECT artist in me hates it and wants to start over. Of course I can't do that because this site is for class, but you know what I'm saying =)

Basically, I'm trying to go easy on myself and quell the Artsier Than Thou in me so I can learn this program and get on with my life.

You be the judge.

Happy Thanksgiving (Two Days Late)

I hope today finds you full of delicious leftovers as well as content with your holiday. I spent a relaxing day at my aunt's house, which was great because I got to catch up with everyone and hang out with my cousins (I usually have three dinners to go to every year, which leaves quality family time lacking, unfortunately). Before feasting on macaroni, greenbeans and dinner rolls (yum!), however, I ran out for an hour to capture some beautiful scenery.

I drive by this barn everyday when I go to work. It was an amazing site to see the trees almost completely shrouded in mist while the barn and windmill stand strong.

This photo was taken off of a back road where, thankfully, all development of the land has ceased (at least there's one good thing about this cruddy economy). I think it gives a very surreal look into Early Morning Virginia... in fact it looks like a gateway into another world altogether.

A great start to an even greater day! Both prints can be purchased at www.lfbphotography.etsy.com (in a variety of sizes).

Also, let it be noted that I am offering free shipping on everything in my shop!

Thanks,
Lauren

Whimsy

I love this photo. It's so simple, yet fantastical. This lil cluster of baby's breath randomly popped up in my yard and I played around with the focus until this shot came out. Sometimes all it takes is to crawl around in the weeds!

This week is my finals week for this round of classes. What's great about this is I do not have any written tests. What's not so great is I have 3 design projects, including a 30 page watch catalog layout, 2 papers and 4 responses to others' papers. Guess who's not sleeping this week?! Here's hoping to not having to rely on a 9-5 job much longer!

The Office re-runs are playing and I desperately want to go watch them. But alas, schoolwork beckons.

Anyway, this print can be purchased at www.LFBPhotography.Etsy.com. I'm donating 5% of all proceeds to the college trust fund of my friend's son (she passed away on October 30th).

Thanks,
Lauren

This is why I love the Shenandoah Valley:

Look at those colors! Both can be purchased at www.LFBPhotography.etsy.com (for very reasonable prices, I may add!).

Go on and have a look-see =)

Keep the color alive long after the leaves have fallen...

I always get really sad in the winter. The lack of color has always had a serious effect on my mood and overall well-being. This year, I decided to [hopefully] prevent this annoying phenomenon by creating one-of-a-kind Autumn Leaf ornaments! Inspired by and molded after freshly fallen leaves around town, these lil guys will preserve Autumn in all it's luster! If you'd like to purchase one ($6 a piece + shipping), check out LFBPhotography.etsy.com.
